Our team has a diverse range of skills that cater for all projects. We have worked extensively in the screen industry across a braod range of areas.

Daniel Betty

Daniel is an actor, director, producer and educational specialist. He has worked extensively in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Daniel is currently the Creative Director for Dream Big, Producer at Kōtiri Productions, Manager of Kahurangi Toi Ātea and Chair of Screen Hawke’s Bay. He brings a lot of skills to a broad range of projects.

James Cleary

James has a broad range of work and life experience behind him, working in the film industry in Australia and New Zealand, producing his own films.

James, through his production company, Shrimpton Film, focuses on writing and developing projects while looking to support others in theirs

Gilly Lawrence

Originally working in film lighting Gilly Lawrence has spent 30+ years working with leading film makers to create amazing imagery in some of New Zealand’s most loved films and international productions.

Working on over 1000 TVC productions helping heavyweight international production companies create commercials to market some of the worlds premier products.

Yvonne Lorkin

Yvonne Lorkin has been the drinks editor for dish magazine for the last 14 years, a senior wine show judge and a regular television and radio wine commentator since ages ago.

She’s the Chairperson of the Rose Gold Trust, Hawke’s Bay’s newest women’s health charity, she’s on the board of Screen Hawke’s Bay, our local film office

Cosmo Calman

Cosmo Calman plays as a Freelance Artist, Writer and Theatre Technician. A student of the game since 2016, undertaking a Diploma in Screen Production.

Cosmo has since written several features, some of which have won accolades. His recent work OPIA won a broad number of awards globally.

Stevie Goodwin

Stevie is a talented upcoming director, writer and production designer, who excels in bringing creative visions to life.

They recently completed the short film ‘Frisky’ alongside my thesis project titled ‘Yass-ifying the Filmmaking Process: A Personal Discovery in Queer Filmmaking.’

Tom Allan

Tom Allan is a cinematographer and marketing guru who specialises in commercial work, documentary and television.

For over 20 years he has been creating content for local government, tourism and capturing place based stories. He has worked extensively with Kotiri to capture our work.

Rob Mackintosh

For over a decade Rob has created plug-ins for editing and compositing software, with a focus on green screen keying.

He has 20 years experience acting in local theatre.  Recently he has moved into the role of DIT.  Rob is excited to be working with Kōtiri Productions to streamline their post-production pipeline.

Suden Lakshmanan

Originally from Sri Lanka, he developed a passion for film and theatre at a young age. This led him to move to New Zealand to study Screenwriting and Directing, which allowed him to further develop his craft.

Over the years, he has gained experience working for a production company, freelancing, and working on personal passion projects.
